Choosing a snowboard that suits you well depends on choosing the right length. There are dozens of different types and sizes of snowboards. Finding the right one can therefore be quite a task. When choosing your snowboard length, you have to take a number of things into account. So you always have to think about the type of snowboard, your height and your weight. In addition, your personal preference is of course also important. If you like more maneuverability, then a shorter board suits you better. Or do you like speed? Then a stable, long board is ideal again.

In general, with snowboards you can assume that they come out approximately between your nose and your shoulders. In addition, it is important to look at what kind of board you have.

Are you a freestyle snowboarder who loves all kinds of tricks? Then choose a somewhat shorter board. A shorter board provides more maneuverability, exactly what you need to perform cool tricks. A freeride/allmountain board is for snowboarders who like to make a little more speed. Here it is more convenient to choose a board with a length between your chin and your nose. A board that is too short creates too little stability.

Are you more into alpine snowboarding? Then choose a long board. In this case, the board should definitely come up to your forehead. In this discipline of snowboarding, high speed is very important, it is most similar to skiing of all snowboard disciplines. With a longer snowboard you have much more stability, which you desperately need in alpine snowboarding.

In addition to the type of board, you have to take your weight into account. Are you a very light snowboarder? Take a board that comes up to your chin. A longer board is more difficult to control if you are very light. With a normal weight, you can assume a length between your shoulders and your nose. If you are a bit heavier than average, take a board with a length up to your nose.

In addition to all the above things to take into account, it is also useful to involve your level. Unlike skis, most snowboards can be handled by almost everyone, but a shorter snowboard is a bit easier. As a novice snowboarder it is therefore advisable to take a somewhat shorter board, these are more forgiving than long boards. To do this, choose a board up to your chin.
